Distinguished Scholar in Residence – Prof. Dong Xiao (4/2023)

The HKBU Mr. Simon Suen and Mrs. Mary Suen Sino-Humanitas Institute is very glad to resume the Distinguished Scholar in Residence Scheme that was once postponed due to COVID, and has invited Professor Dong Xiao, Dean of School of Liberal Arts of Nanjing University to visit HKBU for a week in mid-April 2023. During the visit, Prof. Dong gave a presentation for the Sino-Humanitas Distinguished Scholar Lecture on campus, attracting several dozens of students from HKBU and other local higher institutions, and members of the public to participate in person.

是次講座,董曉教授以「蘇俄文學在二十世紀中國的命運」為題,分六個論點依次展開。第一,董曉教授開宗明義地指出蘇俄文學對中國現代文學的影響之大。具體而言,在特殊年代中國對蘇俄文學的熱捧與批判均是其影響力之體現,蘇俄文學也對好幾代中國作家形成了「影響的焦慮」。第二,由於政治、歷史、意識形態等因素的相似,二十世紀的蘇俄文學史與中國新文學史恰好形成了一種獨特的「錯位對應」關係,耐人尋味。第三,在中國改革開放後,蘇俄文學受到了冷遇,這是歷史的必然,但也是深刻的遺憾。第四,在中國的特殊年代裏,蘇俄文學被狂熱崇拜,這是一種絕無僅有的文化現象,但實則也是對蘇俄文學的一種歪曲與誤讀;意識形態化的闡釋實則損害了俄羅斯經典作家的藝術魅力。第五,中國現代文學對二十世紀蘇俄文學不同層面的接受,分別產生了積極與消極的不同影響。第六,當今俄羅斯文學對中國文學的影響越來越小,但這也正是對二十世紀俄羅斯文學與中國文學進行平行觀照的契機,因爲兩國在某些議題上存在著共同的困惑。
