SHI is glad to collaborate once again with the Malaysia Secondary School Chinese Language Teachers Association and Faqing Academy, to jointly organise the event series On family and state, love and marriage, and writing: Three lectures on Ming-Qing female writers, in May 2023. The webinars are open to all HKBU faculty, students and the general public to participate online.

About the lectures
自古以來,重男輕女的現象一直存在,廣為流傳的作品,多為男性所寫。女性作家也一樣可以傑出,不少經典至今也為人所歌頌。除了婚戀,古代也有的女性談論家國,抒發自己對於國家局勢的不滿與感嘆。
如何從抑郁中解放自己的情緒?不過是通過寫作,從大環境聯系到自身,做了反思,紓解感慨。就如,李清照的詩詞在時光的淘洗下並未湮滅,依然閃爍著珍珠般的光彩。李清照的詩詞影響一代又一代的人,尤其對明清女性詞人而言的影響更加深遠。
5月,我們很榮幸邀請到中國東南大學人文學院副教授喬玉鈺博士為我們帶來明清女作家三講,帶領我們從明清之際女遺民創作的精神特質、明清才女的婚姻書寫、明清女詞人的易安情結看明清女作家的詩詞書寫。

About the speaker
Dr. Qiao Yuyu is Associate Professor of School of Humanities, Southeast University, Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China. She obtained her bachelor and master degrees from Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Nanjing University in 2003 and 2006 respectively, and received her PhD in Comparative Culture, Nara’s Women University, Japan in 2013. She has been working at School of Humanities, Southeast University since April 2013.
