Transmedia Interpretation and a Dialogue between Tradition and the Present: SHI Interdisciplinary Symposium (6/2022)

Since its establishment, SHI has been actively promoting the research on Chinese humanities by conducting different kinds of academic activities, to provide a platform for knowledge exchange among young scholars. The Institute organised the Transmedia Interpretation and a Dialogue between Tradition and the Present: SHI Interdisciplinary Symposium on 15 June 2022 (EST).

With the theme of “Transmedia Interpretation and a Dialogue between Tradition and the Present” and in the general framework of humanities, this symposium will facilitate interdisciplinary intertextuality and dialogues across time and space, and place emphasis on the comprehensiveness of knowledge production and the diversity of research methodologies. It will involve classical Chinese literature, modern and contemporary Chinese literature, Chinese and western film literature, ancient Chinese philosophy, Ming-Qing art history, traditional Chinese opera and cultural studies, etc.
