The Frontiers in Sino-Humanitas Lecture series organized by the Mr. Simon Suen and Mrs. Mary Suen Sino-Humanitas Institute, is honored to invite two distinguished scholars from renowned institutions—Professor Lin Xiaoguang and Professor Ye Ye. In early December, they will both visit Hong Kong Baptist University to jointly deliver a public lecture entitled "Stances and Perspectives in the Study of Literary History," where each will share their insights on different topics. Professor Lin Xiaoguang: 林曉光，大阪大學大學院人文學研究科准教授，北京大學中國古文獻研究中心兼任研究員。復旦大學文學博士，神戶大學聯合培養博士。主業研治中國文史，兼事日本古典文學、學術譯註及書法研究。已出版專著《王融與永明時代——一個南朝貴族的貴族文學》《永明樂——南齊武帝蕭賾傳》等，譯著《東洋文化史研究》《魏晉南北朝》。在《中國社會科學》《文學評論》《文學遺產》《日本中國學會報》等刊物發表論文數十篇。

Professor Ye Ye: Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Peking University, also serves as a Research Fellow at the Center for Ancient Chinese Classics & Archives, Peking University. He is the author of Literature and Official Scholar-bureaucrat System of Ming Dynasty (2011) and co-editor of several works, including The Supplement for the Complete Ci-poetry of Ming Dynasty (2007) and Hidden Pearls from Western Seas: Essays on Ming-Qing Poetry and Prose from Europe and America (2022).

大阪大學大學院人文學研究科准教授林曉光教授的講座以「一個字的文學史：『嫩』與『鬧』的世界」為主題，重點探討了「嫩」與「鬧」兩個漢字從漢代至唐宋的文學演變路徑。講座通過具體的文本案例，揭示了漢字在文學中意義擴展與功能轉化的規律，並提出「文學遺傳學」這一創新研究方法。林曉光老師指出「嫩」字最初專指植物初生的柔弱狀態，如漢代文獻中僅用於描述草木。至南朝時期，其應用範圍逐漸擴展至人物描寫，例如江淹《麗色賦》以「嫩」形容女性肌膚的嬌嫩，范雲《詩經》則將其與青春意象結合，體現了從自然屬性到人文審美的話語遷移。講座隨後指出，「鬧」字的演變路徑與「嫩」相反。東晉佛典翻譯中，「鬧」多指人群喧嘩，強調社會性聲音。唐代詩歌中開始用於自然場景，如白居易《玉樓春》以「鬧」形容鶯鳥啼鳴，杜甫《春夜喜雨》中則借「鬧」表現雨滴的動態感。至宋代，此字進一步應用於植物（如「紅杏枝頭春意鬧」），完成了從人類社會到自然界的意義拓展。最後，林曉光老師提出了「文學遺傳學」概念，建議通過數據庫對每個漢字進行文學基因測序，系統追蹤其語義、用法及跨時代演變。這一方法旨在突破傳統以作家或作品為中心的文學史框架，轉而以漢字為基本單位，深化大家對文學語言微觀發展的理解。

北京大學中國語言文學系葉曄教授題為「『地方詩歌』與地名的文學史」的講座圍繞「地方詩歌」這一核心概念，探討了其內涵、類型及其在文學史中的意義。講座首先界定了「地方詩歌」的概念。它並非一個嚴格的作者意圖或文本類型概念，而是基於地域文化體驗、描寫地理景觀與風物的詩歌文本及其認識方式，其產生源於集部的類編傳統與近世的「地方」觀念，並在宋代書籍刻印發展的推動下，通過別集類編、郡邑總集等形式得以定型，逐漸形成讀者與作者共識。葉曄老師系統闡述了「地方詩歌」的三大類型：紀行詩（如王勃《入蜀紀行詩序》）、景觀詩（如蘇軾《鳳翔八觀》）和風土詩（方回《瀛奎律髓》中專列一類）。通過對王籍《入若耶溪》與張籍《霅溪遠望》等具體詩作的比較，也生動展示了早期地方詩歌的創作模式。講座進一步分析了唐宋時期地方詩歌的三種主要創作身份：地方詩人、地方官員和外地詩人，並以王安石、舒亶等人的作品為例，揭示了不同身份視角下地方景觀與風土人情的多樣書寫。最後，葉曄老師展望了「地名的文學史」研究前景，指出地方詩歌的價值不僅在於文學美感，更在於其生產地方性知識、塑造地域文化認同的重要功能。講座也以王韜的《香港竹枝詞》為例，將視角延伸至香港，展現了該研究框架的廣闊適用性，為理解文學與地域的深層互動提供了富有啓發的思路。
