About the speaker:
A globally eminent philologist and paleographer, Professor Qiu Xigui has spent decades studying Chinese philology, ancient Chinese documents (Pre-Qin period, Qin and Han dynasties). He is an expert in interpreting inscriptions on oracle bones, bronzes, bamboo slips, wooden slips and silk pieces, etc. His books include A Synopsis of Philology, which were printed over 20 times and translated into English, Korean and Japanese since its initial release in 1998.
