Lecture Series by Distinguished Scholars of Sinology: Professor David Knechtges (3/2014)

The Institute was very honoured to invite Prof. David R. Knechtges to speak at HKBU for the Lecture Series by Distinguished Scholars of Sinology, co-organised by SHI and Department of Chinese Language and Literature, HKBU.

Prof. Knechtges is Professor of Chinese Literature at the University of Washington. He also has taught at Yale, the University of Wisconsin, and Harvard. He was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2005. He is the author of over 100 articles and ten books including Two Studies of the Han Fu (1968), Wen xuan or Selections of Refined Literature (1982-1996), and Ancient and Early Medieval Chinese Literature: A Reference Guide (2010-2014). He is the editor of the English version of the four-volume Peking University The History of Chinese Civilization published by Cambridge University Press in 2012.
