The Sino-Humanitas Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series, is a long-term event series of the Mr. Simon Suen and Mrs. Mary Suen Sino-Humanitas Institute. Since it was launched in 2015, more than 20 lectures have been held, inviting top scholars at home and abroad to share the latest research findings in Chinese Humanities Studies at the HKBU campus for faculties, students and the general public of Hong Kong.
First Sino-Humanitas Distinguished Scholar Lecture in 2024, invites Professor Fu Gang from Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Peking University to deliver a public lecture at HKBU. 傅剛，1956年出生，北京大學中文系教授。中國《文選》學研究會會長。曾任日本東京大學外國人教師、台灣大學、韓國外國語大學、北京外國語大學客座教授、早稻田大學訪問教授。代表著作有《魏晉南北朝詩歌史論》、《昭明文選研究》、《文選版本研究》、《蕭統評傳》（合作）、《〈玉台新詠〉與南朝文學》、《漢魏六朝文學與文獻論稿》、《文學與文獻窺管》等。

Summary:
2024年的首場「人文中國傑出學人講座」，本所邀請到北京大學中文系的傅剛教授分享關於中國人文學的研究成果與心得。傅剛教授以「從《春秋》到《春秋經》——孔子何以修《春秋》以及怎樣修《春秋》」為題，探討了從《春秋》到《春秋經》的修撰過程與孔子在其中發揮的作用。第一部分，傅教授指出《春秋》原是史書，魯國史也叫《春秋》，當時的《春秋》旨在紀錄國家正在發生的大事。然而在那個時代，每個國家的史官都只記錄自己王朝的歷史，還沒有自覺把歷史打通以形成通史。第二部分，傅教授討論了孔子所修的《五經》之《春秋》，他指出歷史中作為魯史的《春秋》已經不存於世，而有大量文獻證明孔子修訂《春秋》，慾欲以此使亂臣賊子懼。進一步，傅教授還引用《漢書•藝文志》、《嚴氏春秋》引《觀周篇》等材料，得出孔子修《春秋》前曾與左丘明共同觀魯史的結論。這既是孔子修《春秋》的事前準備，也是左丘明撰寫《左傳》的緣起，《左傳》是《春秋》之《傳》而非史。此外，傅教授還論及「信古」與「疑古」的爭議，他提點我們應該認識到質疑易而論證難的現實，並強調不可僅因懷疑而忽視傳統文獻的可靠性。第三部分，傅教授討論了孔子修《春秋》的原因。他引《春秋經傳集解序》、《春秋左傳正義》等材料，說明孔子修《春秋》時的歷史背景及希望達成的目的，乃至孔子褒貶在《春秋》中的實踐。第四部分，傅教授討論了孔子怎麼樣修《春秋》，他給出一系列例證，說明孔子在修《春秋》時使用了三體五情的方法。《春秋》作為孔子親自筆削之書，在儒家的經典體系中佔有重要的地位，傅教授的講座也恰恰給我們打開了接觸《春秋》的大門，具有重要的意義。
