The Young Scholars International Conference series, with a focus on classical Chinese literary studies, has become a signature annual event of the Mr. Simon Suen and Mrs. Mary Suen Sino-Humanitas Institute since 2015. This year, the Institute is very glad to organize the 9th conference themed “Different eras can resonate together: The inheritance and innovation of the research of classical Chinese literature”, at the HKBU campus during 9 and 10 August 2024.

Guests attending the Opening Ceremony of the conference include Mrs. Mary Suen, Honorary Director of the Mr. Simon Suen and Mrs. Mary Suen Sino-Humanitas Institute, Dr. Chloe Suen, Chair of the Simon Suen Foundation, and Mrs. Lily Chan, Director of University Advancement and Secretary-General of the HKBU Foundation.

1. New interpretations of new materials and existing literature;
2. Studies on classical writers and works;
3. Genres and theories of classical Chinese literature;
4. Literary critism of classical Chinese literautre;
5. New perspectives and methodologies of classical Chinese literature;
6. Other related issues in classical Chinese literature.
