Premodern Chinese Prose Studies involves both established principles and treasured creative transformations. This workshop, themed "Forging the Patterned Path: Theory and Hermeneutics in Premodern Chinese Prose Studies," aims to investigate the intrinsic logic and interpretative dimensions of Premodern Chinese Prose Studies. We hope to adopt a multiplicity of perspectives, exploring how this field is interwoven through concrete theoretical propositions, critical discourses, and writing practices. The workshop seeks to examine the internal logic and system-building of Premodern Prose Studies, and to promote further depth and innovation in this area of research.

Topics of the workshop include but are not limited to:

1. Core Concepts and Key Categories of Ancient Chinese Rhetorical Studies

2. Theoretical Systems and Critical Discourses in Ancient Chinese Rhetoric

3. Evolution and Internal Logic of Ancient Chinese Rhetorical Studies

4. Textual Practices and Methods in Ancient Chinese Rhetorical Studies

5. Special Topics in Ancient Chinese Rhetorical Studies
