Lectures & Other Activities

The Sino-Humanitas Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series, organized by the The Mr. Simon Suen and Mrs. Mary Suen Sino-Humanitas Institute, has been held for over ten years. The series has invited more than twenty distinguished scholars in Chinese humanities from both within the region and abroad to deliver lectures at Hong Kong Baptist University. This time, we are honoured to invite Professor K. K. Leonard CHAN from Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, China to present a lecture themed “Lin Yiliang’s Shihua: Critiques on Chinese Poetry by Stephen Soong.” Event details are as follows.

是次講座，陳國球教授探討了宋淇以「林以亮」為筆名所展開的詩學思考與文化身份的多重意義。陳教授指出，「林以亮」並非單純的筆名，而是一個承載著集體記憶與文學理想的象徵符號。據宋淇之子宋以朗所述，「林以亮」代表著宋淇與友人吳興華、孫道臨三位一體的文學生命，是他們共同的暗號與精神寄託。

講座回顧了林以亮早年在北京時期的讀詩經歷，特別是1939年發表的〈讀詩因緣〉，展現其與水建彤（彤管先生）之間以詩文互贈的深厚情誼。林以亮的詩學思考不僅限於古典詩詞的詮釋，還融入西方詩歌的視野，如參照英國玄學派詩人與T. S. Eliot的論述，並藉此重估宋詩的價值。

陳教授亦分析林以亮在1950年代移居香港後，如何在詩話中延續與吳興華的精神對話。吳興華於1952年後音訊斷絕，林以亮在詩論中多次以「梁文星」之名引述其作品，讓摯友的文學生命在其筆下得以延續。整場講座以「文學生命的流轉與再生」為主軸，展現林以亮如何在離散中藉詩學傳承友情與文化記憶。
