The Second Forum on Recent Research in Gender and Ming-Qing Culture (11/2017)


Twenty-four distinguished scholars share their recent research findings on gender issues in Ming-Qing culture at HKBU

A total of 24 distinguished scholars from Hong Kong, Mainland China, the United States and Taiwan assembled at HKBU on 22 November 2017 to share their latest research findings in the second forum on Gender and Ming-Qing Culture co-organised by the Department of History, Mr Simon Suen and Mrs Mary Suen Sino-Humanitas Institute (SHI) and Gender Studies Concentration of HKBU. 

 

Speakers at the Forum are scholars working on gender issues in different times, especially the Ming-Qing dynasty. The aim of the Forum is to provide a platform for speakers to share their recent research findings and current projects, drawing insights from the different perspectives of gender issues in Ming-Qing Culture, such as history, literature, translations, customs, religion and philosophy. 

 

The event attracted a full house of over 100 people, including students in various programmes, scholars from local universities and the general public.
